Suga of the group BTS has posted a handwritten apology for causing social controversy by driving a scooter while drunk.
On the 25th, SUGA posted on the fan community platform Weverse, "On the night of August 6th, I made the mistake of riding an electric scooter on the sidewalk after drinking alcohol.
"I also apologize for causing so much confusion with my initial apology, which was hastily posted on the 7th," he said, "I should have thought about it more deeply and been more careful, but I failed to do so."
Suga then said, "I will accept not only the punishment that will be handed down in the future, but also the criticism and reprimands," and "I once again sincerely apologize for causing social controversy and disappointing many people."
Suga was found to have been drinking when he collapsed while riding an electric scooter on the street in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul on the night of the 6th.
At the time, Suga's blood alcohol level was 0.227%, and he was reportedly completely drunk. Suga turned himself in to Yongsan Police Station on the 23rd, 17 days after he was arrested for drunk driving, to undergo an investigation.
"SUGA has admitted to the facts of the charges," the company said. SUGA has been serving as a social service officer since September last year and is fulfilling his military service obligation. He will be discharged in June next year.
