尹大統領、与党指導部との30日「夕食会」を “延期”=韓国
President Yoon postpones ”dinner” with ruling party leaders on the 30th = South Korea
A dinner meeting between South Korean President Yoon Seok-yeol and the leadership of the ruling People Power Party, which was scheduled for the 30th of this month, has been postponed.
President Yoon has had multiple exchanges with the ruling party leadership since the party convention, and so the name "mid-autumn celebration" is now widely used.
"With the mid-autumn festival coming up, the government and ruling party are gathering together to discuss ways to improve people's livelihoods," a senior official from the South Korean presidential office said on the 28th.
"Taking measures to support the livelihood of the people is a priority rather than waiting to have a meal," he said, adding, "I will have a meal with the leadership after the mid-autumn celebration holidays."
The President's Office and ruling party leaders initially arranged the dinner as part of a coalition to unite the ruling party.
It was reported that the ruling party's supreme committee members, including Chairman Han Dong-hoon, the floor leader, and the chairman of the Policy Committee would be in attendance.
The President's Office cited "civilian reasons" as the reason for the postponement, but some are saying, "It's about the issue of deferring the increase in medical school students in 2026."
There is also a view that this is where the conflict came to the surface.
