Car rentals for foreign tourists launched in Jeju, reservations can be made through website (South Korea)
Socar, a car-sharing service provider, has announced that it will provide a car-sharing service for foreign tourists visiting Jeju Island.
This is the first time the company has offered services to foreign tourists.
Reservations for the service have begun on the websites of online travel agents (OTAs) such as "Soca Station," which will serve as a service hub and meet the demands of foreign tourists.
The first service area is Cheju Island, where the company is located, and the company has launched the minimum viable functionality (MVP). Foreigners with an international driver's license can use the service through OTA.
After arriving, you can take a shuttle to Socar Station Jeju. You can sign an electronic contract on site and start using the service. However, just like Korean Socar members, you can use the smart key on the dedicated app.
The company plans to upgrade the content based on the results of this service, and will also launch a new service in Seoul and Incheon International Airport in 2025.
The company also plans to launch a new service for non-face-to-face services. It will develop a global version of the app so that foreigners can also use the service.
