El Salvador's President Nayib Bukele said adopting Bitcoin as legal tender has had a positive impact on the country, but not as much as he expected.
In an interview with Time magazine, President Bukele said that the adoption of Bitcoin was voluntary and not forced by the government.
"Clearly more could have been done. Bitcoin has not been as widely adopted as we would have hoped," he added.
