Box left by mountaineering club contains food waste... District office says ”fining is difficult” = South Korea
A mountaineering club was caught on camera dumping trash on the roadside after climbing and leaving the scene, sparking controversy.
The video shows a mountaineering club dumping garbage in front of a shopping street in the north district. According to the video, after the mountaineering club's tour bus stopped on the road next to the shopping street, the members got off one by one and took out their luggage from the trunk.
However, while the members were collecting their belongings, they left some of the items, such as styrofoam boxes that appeared to be garbage, on the side of the road and left the scene.
According to an informant, the shopping district manager, the styrofoam boxes that the members had thrown away contained food waste.
After disposing of all of these items, the shopping district manager reported the mountaineering club to the ward office.
However, the ward office responded, "It will be difficult to impose a fine unless we take a photo of what kind of garbage was in the box."
The host of the program said, "When I see people dumping trash on the road like that, I can see that there is even more trash being dumped on the mountain.
Internet users who saw this commented, "Why is it so hard to impose a fine?", "I'm even more angry at the way the district office handled it," and "Why do they need photos when they have video footage?"
I don't know if that's the case."
