「乗務員は食べない」…操縦士が暴露した「汚い」機内食の秘密
”The crew won't eat it”... Pilot reveals the secret behind ”dirty” in-flight meals
A pilot for Delta Air Lines, one of the three major U.S. airlines, has claimed that the water used in coffee and drinks served on board may be significantly contaminated.
According to the New York Post on the 17th (local time), Delta Airlines pilot and co-pilot Paul Janowitz had been drinking alcohol, coffee, carbonated drinks, spicy foods, fried foods, etc.
Janowitz listed five types of foods and drinks to watch out for on airplanes. "It may be fine for an early morning flight, but the carrots in your coffee can be dehydrating in the cabin environment," he said.
"The border can lead to dehydration," he said, adding that the plane's water tanks, which are used to make coffee and tea, may be contaminated.
This is not the first time such a claim has been made. In 2013, NBC reported that the water used in coffee and tea served on airplanes was from the aircraft's factory.
The report said that the water comes from a tap connected to the water tank. A flight attendant posted on his SNS account, "We don't usually clean the water tanks on the plane. Just ask the flight attendants. We don't clean the water tanks.
"I rarely drink coffee or tea," he said. Yanowitz cited drinking alcohol on airplanes as the most important thing to be careful of. Yanowitz said, "Alcohol can cause dehydration and fatigue after the flight.
"Drinking alcohol on board can cause you to get drunk faster than on the ground due to the change in pressure," he warned. Carbonated drinks, spicy foods, and fried foods can also cause gas and abdominal distension.
He recommended avoiding it as it could cause serious pain.
