Respondents who thought the designation of temporary public holidays was an appropriate measure cited reasons such as "allowing people to rest," "stimulating the domestic economy," and "boosting military morale."

Among the 3,000 survey respondents, 2,306 company employees were asked whether they would be working on October 1st, and it was revealed that no separate decision had been made by their companies.
As many as 39% of respondents said they had not yet taken paid leave. Thirty percent said they planned to take paid leave, and 22% said they would continue to work as usual. Only 9% said they would take unpaid leave.
Many people were also worried about their vacation plans. Of the 2,306 respondents who were company employees, the highest percentage (36%) answered that they had no plans to take time off on October 1st, followed by 31% who said they had no plans to take time off on October 1st itself.
Next, 13% said they would take three days off including October 1st, and 11% said they would take two days off including October 1st.
When asked how they would spend their October 1st holiday, more than half (54%) answered "I will rest at home." 13% answered "I'm not sure," and 12% said "I will pursue a hobby."
"I plan to have fun," 10% said, while 7% said they planned to go on a trip. Prior to this, the government had said that the designation of temporary public holidays would contribute to revitalizing the domestic economy.
However, judging from the results of this survey, it appears that it will be difficult to achieve the effect of stimulating domestic demand that the government hopes.
