33年間行方不明のアナウンサー…バッグには「月給11万円」=韓国
Missing for 33 years, Naeun-sama... ”Monthly salary of 110,000 yen” written on bag = Korea
On September 21, 1991, 33 years ago in South Korea, Kim Eun Jung (Naeun), a TBS Traffic Broadcasting station host, went missing.
Kim graduated from Ewha Women's University's Department of Journalism and Broadcasting in 1978 and worked at KBS for five years.
In 1989, she moved to TBS. Although she was short at 155cm, she gained popularity among viewers with her clear voice and beautiful looks.
Kim Eun Jung, who is with us, was a very active host on TV shows such as "Rondo Venezia" and "The Celebrity Show." Since the launch of TBS, Kim has never missed a single broadcast.
She has been missing since the night of September 21, 1991, right before the mid-autumn celebration (Chuseok) holiday. Kim was found dead at her aunt's house, about 50 meters away from the house she lived in at the time in Seodaemun-gu.
They stopped by for dinner, and Kim left her aunt's house saying, "I'm going to go home early and get some rest for the special live broadcast of our mid-autumn celebration," and then disappeared.
Kim originally went to a hospital in Seoul after visiting her aunt's house.
He had planned to visit a friend who was hospitalized, but he did not go and lost contact with the broadcasting station from that day.
Kim was dressed casually in a floral blouse and jumper, green trousers and a handbag.
It was revealed that the bag contained 1 million won (approximately 110,000 yen) in cash, Kim's monthly salary. The family assumed that Kim had run away from home and reported him to the police on the third day of his disappearance.
However, they were unable to find Kim. The police determined that it was unlikely that Kim had run away, taking into consideration the fact that he had gone out in casual clothes and had been engaging in normal social activities.
During the police investigation, Kim was found to have said things like, "I feel embarrassed when I see my juniors," "I want to get hit by a car and die," and "I went to the pharmacy to buy sleeping pills."
When it was confirmed that Kim had made the remarks, the possibility of suicide was raised, but Kim's family and coworkers were of the opinion that there was no way that Kim would commit suicide.
The search for the missing man continued for two to three years, and in 1993 it was even featured on the TV show "25 Hours of Publicly Wanted Cases," but no witnesses or clues were found.
The investigation was closed without any trace. Born in 1956, Kim would be 68 years old if he is still alive.
