Singer Steve Sueng Jun Yoo, who has not been able to set foot on Korean soil for 22 years due to allegations of evading military service, boasted of his heartfelt love for Korea on South Korea's "National Armed Forces Day" (October 1st).

Prior to this, Steve Sueng Jun Yoo received permission to travel abroad in 2002 to perform overseas before enlisting in the military, and then left the country to live in an American city.

Steve Sueng Jun Yoo applied for a Korean overseas visa in 2015, but the Los Angeles Consulate General rejected his application. In October of the same year, the Consulate General overturned the visa denial.
After a trial for reversal and a second appeal, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of Steve Sueng Jun Yoo. However, the Los Angeles Consulate-General said,
