Singer Steve Sueng Jun Yoo won the lawsuit over visa issuance, but ``It's been 4 months and I haven't heard anything.''
Singer Steve Sueng Jun Yoo expressed his feelings on the 27th anniversary of his debut and his frustration over still being unable to enter the country even after winning a lawsuit over the issuance of a visa.
Steve Sueng Jun Yoo wrote on his SNS on the 2nd, "It's been 27 years since my debut, and if you calculate the time I've spent officially with my fans, it's been less than five years, and half of those five years have been in America.
"When I think about it, I was only active for about two and a half years," he continued. "I thought we would meet again soon, but 22 years have passed, and I don't know when we'll meet again.
"It's been four months since I won the case in court, but I haven't heard anything," Steve Sueng Jun Yoo said. "I've really tried my best to live my life. I have no regrets or grudges. But every time anniversaries like this come around,
"I felt really sorry when I remembered the fans who were waiting for me and supporting me," he said. "Thank you, everyone. I will never forget that feeling. I want to express it often."
"Even without that, I was able to endure for 22 years. I did everything I could. It's okay, yeah, it's okay," he said, comforting himself. Steve Sueng Jun Yoo became a U.S. citizen in 2002, just before he was due to enlist.
He was accused of evading duty and subsequently banned from entering South Korea. He then tried to enter the country on an overseas Korean visa but was denied the visa, leading to a lawsuit in 2015.
In the first and second trials, the courts ruled that Steve Sueng Jun Yoo could not be allowed to enter the country, citing reasons such as "declining morale among soldiers" and "concerns over the spread of a trend of evading military service."
However, the Supreme Court ruled that the refusal to issue the visa was wrong and sent the case back to the Seoul High Court.
The case was appealed to the Supreme Court, but the Supreme Court decided not to continue the trial, resulting in Steve Sueng Jun Yoo's victory.
After winning the lawsuit, Steve Sueng Jun Yoo applied for a visa at the US Consulate General in Los Angeles in July 2020.
He lost the case in the first instance, won the case in the second instance, and finally won his case at the appellate court on November 30th of last year. This allowed Steve Sueng Jun Yoo to be issued with the necessary visa to enter South Korea. But 4 months
It seems that he is still not allowed to enter the country, as there has been no news since then.
