【第29回BIFF】ドラマ「マイ・ディア・ミスター~私のおじさん~」監督&俳優パク・ホサン、故イ・ソンギュンさんに向けた追悼コメントにさまざまな意見が浮上
[29th BIFF] TV Series ”My Mister” director and actor Park Ho San's tribute to the late Lee Sun Kyun sparks mixed reactions
Controversy continues to surround director Kim Won-seok and actor Park Ho-seung's depressing remembrance of the late Lee Sung-kyun.

The 29th Busan International Film Festival's ‘Special Talk: In Memory of the Late Lee Sung-kyun’ was held on the afternoon of the 4th at Lotte Cinema Centum City branch in Haeundae-gu, Busan, with director Kim Won-seok of tvN drama ‘My Dear Mister - My Uncle’ and actor Park Ho-sang, Song Saebyeok attended the event.

On the same day, director Kim Won-seok made a statement of opinion, saying that "the media, which published ridiculous articles, and the police and prosecutors were able to do such things because the public tolerated them," and that "the public in the media industry era seems to be well aware that they are the absolute strongmen".

He continued, "Please give me a few more opportunities before cutting me off", adding, "It was not a crime and there was no evidence, but the public did not like the state of affairs."

Director Kim Won-shik also said, "I wish you would be a little more careful. In fact, the absolute strongest people are you all" and added "The actors are very weak people. They cannot exist without your support and encouragement."

Alongside this, he stressed that it was "outrageous" and that those who leaked false investigation details should be punished.

Park Ho-Sang pointed to the scene in episode 5 where Park Dong-Hoon (Lee Sung-Kyun) collapses and states, "Today I'm going to die" as a scene that he felt was exceptional, and said, "That guy (Lee Sung-Kyun) really didn't want to be humiliated. He was a friend who talked a lot about not wanting to be humiliated" and expressed his own feelings that “the world humiliated him.”

Finally, Park Ho-Sang asked "Did he rest in peace? We believe in you. Don't be ashamed, it's okay" and director Kim Won-seok said, "Mr Sung-kyun, I know you. No matter what you do, I believe in you," he mourned again.

Thus, over the somewhat emotionally charged condolences of the ‘My Dear Mister - My Uncle’ team, the point was raised that while it is natural to mourn privately, it is a statement that crosses the line in a public forum. On the other hand, there is a counter opinion that it is quite possible because they lost an important person like a brother, and both sides are in violent conflict.

Meanwhile, the 29th Busan International Film Festival will be held for 10 days until 11 November in the area of the Cinema Hall in Woo-dong, Pusan Haeundae-gu. A total of 278 films from 63 countries, including 54 community BIFF screenings, can be seen at a total of 26 screening theatres, including 5 theatres at the Cinema Hall, CGV Centum City, Lotte Cinema Centum City, Film Promotion Committee Standard Screening Room and Megabox Busan Theatre.
