HANNI, a member of the Korean girl group "NewJeans," who decided to appear as a witness in a parliamentary audit due to "allegations of harassment within the agency," has released a message she received from her biological mother.
HANI revealed that during a live stream last month, another artist's manager had told her to "ignore him" in front of her.
Suspicions of harassment at the NewJeans office of HYB have surfaced, and the National Diet's Environment and Labor Committee has appointed HANI and HYB as witnesses in relation to the "Idol Harassment and Workplace Bullying Issues."
They requested that Kim Juyeon, CEO of ADOR, a label under E, appear as a witness. In response, HANI expressed her intention to attend through the fan communication app "Phoning" on the 9th.
HANI said, "I've decided! I'm going to the National Assembly! I'm going to the National Assembly! I'm going alone! Don't worry! I'm going for myself and the members," and added, "NewJeans
However, HANI's decision caused a lot of concern. HANI is a foreigner, which makes him seem even more unfamiliar.
Hani shared the message that her mother wanted to share with her fans.
Ni's mother stated, "Hani has personally decided to attend the National Assembly and speak about bullying within her office, and her family wholeheartedly supports all of her decisions."
He continued, "I was very worried because I felt scared that her opinion might not be valued or respected. I was very worried because of the negative reactions to her music.
"It was here that she found solace, encouraged to explore love and dance as an extension of how she could better express herself."
Hani's mother said about the incident Hani experienced in HYBE, "I was extremely angry.
"We need to prevent this from happening again, and I encouraged her to speak up," he said. "HANI's participation in the National Assembly is a big deal.
It's a big responsibility and one she doesn't take lightly. She's really taken a lot of courage to speak up and stand up for herself and we're really proud of her."
Finally, HANI's mother expressed her hope that "through this action, HANI's past, present and future will be opened up so that she can have better experiences for many more years to come."
Despite the worries of those around her, HANI's courageous decision to attend the National Assembly audit has been met with support from the public, including her mother.
Meanwhile, the National Assembly's Environment and Labor Committee's comprehensive parliamentary audit by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Economic, Social and Labor Committee will be held on the 15th of this month.
She is scheduled to answer questions related to idol harassment and bullying within the agency.
