100 million cups sold despite it not being coffee... Starbucks' best-selling non-coffee drink (South Korea)
Starbucks Korea announced on the 11th that its Grapefruit HANI Black Tea has sold 100 million cups in total.
It has been 8 years and 2 months since the launch of the Cutie. The drinks that have sold more than 100 million cups at Starbucks to date are Cafe Americano, Cafe Latte, Caramel Macchiato, and Starbucks Coffee.
The five drinks were coffee, including the Coffee Dolce Latte and Cold Brew. The first tea drink was the Grapefruit HANI Black Tea.
Grapefruit HANI Black Tea has become the sixth drink in Starbucks Korea's history to exceed 100 million cups sold.
Starbucks Grapefruit Hani Black Tea is a Starbucks product that is sold every year.
It has been so popular that it has been in the top 10 of Bucks' best-selling drinks. When it was released in September 2016, it was a promotional drink that was only available for one month.
It was released as a Link, but over 450,000 cups were sold in the first month alone, and Starbucks responded by making it a regular menu item.
Even after being changed to a regular sales menu, the growth trend of Grapefruit Hani Black Tea continued. In fact, the sales volume of this product has increased by an average of more than 30% per year.
In the first nine months of this year, Starbucks' tea category sales exceeded 10 million cups, reaching 70 million cups in May 2023.
One out of every three drinks is Grapefruit HANI Black Tea. The popularity of Grapefruit HANI Black Tea has led to the development of further menu items.
Starbucks also introduced a soft sherbet-type 'Grapefruit HANI-Lemon Blend'. Grapefruit is a fruit from Jeju.
