"It's an unfortunate and tragic outcome," he said. "Climbing on this bridge is prohibited. You should not go on the bridge under any circumstances."
The local coroner has removed Mr. A's body to the funeral home.
The bridge that Mr. A climbed was 192 meters high and was the "highest bridge in Spain" when it was established in October 2011.
It was famous as the "longest bridge in Japan." It was built as a "cable-stayed bridge," in which cables stretched diagonally from towers were directly connected to the bridge girders.
In addition to Mr. A, there were other people who went to the Castilla-La Mancha Bridge to post on social media.
Local media reported that there is no end to young people climbing up the bridge. Last year, two bloggers tried to climb up the bridge but were thwarted, and in 2016, two young people who tried to climb up the bridge were investigated by local prosecutors.
Local media outlet LTMPO reported that "many people hid their faces as they walked up the bridge to avoid police punishment."
