Kim Yong-hyuk, captain of the 1st Mobile Patrol Unit, emphasized, "We conducted the inspection from a safety perspective because in situations where large numbers of people gather, such as on Halloween, there are concerns about accidents involving guns or knives."
With the help of police control, citizens maintained order by ensuring smooth passage of traffic. In areas where people gather, citizens voluntarily took detours or waited without pushing.
In fact, according to Seoul's real-time city data, as of 11 p.m. on the 26th, 66,000 to 68,000 citizens had gathered, but there were no major safety incidents.
People enjoyed Halloween according to their own circumstances. The police deployed 331 officers on this day and made every effort to ensure safety. In particular, the Mobile Patrol Unit, which was launched in February this year, celebrated its first Halloween.
The team, made up of four people, was tasked with preventing crime and dealing with disturbances caused by drunk people, as well as securing passageways in crowded areas such as around clubs.
Pedestrian control activities were also carried out. On this day, when a motorcycle entered a pedestrian-only street, a ticket was immediately issued, and efforts were made to ensure safety.
