At around 4:30pm on the 30th October 2017, actor Kim Joo Hyuk died suddenly in a car accident when the vehicle he was in overturned on a certain road in Samseong-dong, Seoul.
The late Kim Joo Hyuk, who debuted in 1998 as an SBS 8th Open Recruit talent, had acted in the films ‘YMCA Baseball Team’, ‘Singles’, ‘If Anything Happens to Anyone Anywhere, Team Leader Hong Will Definitely Show Up’, ‘Kwang-shik's Brother Kwan-tae’, ‘Blue Swallow’, ‘My Wife Got Married’, ‘Chunhyang Secret Biography The Servant’, ‘ Couples', and dramas such as “Prague Lovers”, “The God of War” and “Gugam/Ho Jun”, he has established himself as an actor to be seen and believed, moving between the screen and the teatime theatre.
In particular, he joined the KBS2 TV variety show ‘2 Days 1 Night’ as a regular member and exuded a familiar human side.
After leaving ‘2 Days 1 Night’, he further broadened his acting spectrum with films such as ‘No Secrets’, ‘Confidential’ and ‘Stone Mansion Murder’, and entered his second prime period as an actor.
Through his posthumous film ‘Poison War BELIEVER’, he was honoured with the Best Supporting Actor Award at the 55th Daejong Awards Film Festival, the Best Supporting Actor Award at the 39th Blue Dragon Film Awards and the Best Male Supporting Actor Award in the film category at the 55th Hyakusyo Art Awards.
The late Kim Joo-hyuk was at the pinnacle of his acting career and many people still miss him, as he had raised expectations for his future activities.
