韓国元与党議員「尹大統領は日本の望む通りにしてきた」…「日本はわれわれに何をしてくれたのか」
South Korean former ruling party lawmaker: ”President Yoon has done exactly what Japan wanted”... ”What has Japan done for us?”
On the 25th, Yoon Seung-min, a ruling party lawmaker from the People Power Party, said, "At the Sado Gold Mine Memorial Ceremony, South Korea was once again deceived and caught off guard by Japan's fraudulent scheme," and criticized Yoon Seo-gyul.
He called for an apology from President Yoon Seok-yeol and for those responsible, including the foreign minister, to be held accountable. On the same day, Rep. Yoon wrote on Fei's blog, "If this is the case, what can President Yoon believe in?"
"If Japan does not clearly acknowledge and record the painful history of over 1,500 Koreans being forcibly brought to the Sado Gold Mine and forced to work there, then of course it should not be registered," he said.
"No matter how much the president wants to be friendly with Japan, we should have kept the minimum level of cooperation between our two countries for the sake of our national interests and the pride of our people," he said.
"I think reciprocity must be upheld," he said, emphasizing, "especially when it comes to issues of history, sovereignty and territory, there are principles on which we cannot compromise."
"Since the Yoon administration took office, we have made efforts such as the third-party compensation for forced laborers, the release of contaminated water (treated water) from the Fukushima nuclear power plant, and the registration of the Sado Gold Mine by UNESCO.
We gave Japan exactly what it wanted, but what has Japan done to us?" he lamented.
