Japanese media reported, "Former Prime Minister Suga, who is also the chairman of the Japan-Korea Parliamentary Friendship League, will visit Korea for two days from the 15th of this month and will meet with National Assembly Vice Speaker Chu Ho-young, who is also the chairman of the Korea-Japan Parliamentary Friendship League."
Prime Minister Suga, along with other senior members of the Japan-Korea Parliamentary Friendship League, will visit South Korea and confirm their cooperation, including holding commemorative events to promote exchanges, in the run-up to the 60th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Japan and South Korea next year.
It was a policy. Suga, former Prime Minister, was also reportedly pushing for a meeting with President Yoon Seok-yeol. The Japan-Korea Parliamentary Friendship League and the Korea-Japan Parliamentary Friendship League have been traveling between the two countries every year to hold joint general meetings.
However, with former Prime Minister Suga cancelling his visit to South Korea, some are saying that "it's highly likely that the event will not take place this year."
