Average daily wage of software engineers in South Korea is about 400,000 won, up 4% from last year due to significant growth

The Korea Software Industry Association (KOSA) recently announced the results of a survey on the wages of software engineers in 2024.
The survey, which asked questions about wages, was conducted in September and October 2024 among 41,493 software engineers working in the field. According to the survey, the average daily wage of software engineers is 396,307 won.
The average wage for software companies was 42,150 yen (approximately 42,150 yen), up 4.2% from the previous year. The average wage includes basic salary, special salary, bonus, retirement benefits, insurance, etc.
The results will be used as a reference for formulating the average wages for engineers in the next five years. KOSA is a framework for measuring the ability to perform tasks in a business based on various factors such as academic degrees and career history.
The survey will look at wages for 17 different job types, focusing on job characteristics and technical skills in the IT field based on the ITSQF. It will also seek to understand wage trends for software engineers.
