Korean short film produced by AI wins multiple film awards, praised for delicate expression (Korea)

"M Hotel," a short film produced by entertainment giant CJ ENM using artificial intelligence (AI), was recently selected as a member of the judging panel at the Busan International AIFilm Festival (BIAIF).
The film was also selected as one of the 10 finalists at the Venice International AIFilm Festival, and won the top prize in the AI category at the New York AMT International Film Festival.
It also won the top prize at the Cannes World Film Festival. The film is a mystery that begins when a homeless man accidentally gets hold of a key to a mysterious hotel.
In just 6 minutes and 31 seconds, the film depicts a three-dimensional, deep insight into life. Compared to previous films, the AI-generated backgrounds are more realistic than ever, and the characters' detailed emotional expressions have been well-received.
The four-person AI business promotion team, which is responsible for AI-related research and development (R&D) at the company, completed the story and production stages of the work in one month.
To realize this goal, CJ has used more than 10 AI solutions. At the same time, the company has optimized its own solutions.
An ENM official said, "We will use AI to expand opportunities for up-and-coming creators to present their work and to promote more content.
"By supporting content production, we hope to contribute to the evolution of the content market."
