First in history to have both president and defense secretary vacant at the same time...Military readiness at ”high level” = South Korea

On the 14th, the National Assembly passed a motion to impeach South Korean President Yoon Seok-youl, leaving the South Korean military with the unusual situation of having the position of commander-in-chief of the armed forces vacant, following the position of Minister of National Defense.
The National Assembly held a plenary session that afternoon and tabled a motion to impeach President Yoon, which was passed by all 300 members of the National Assembly with 204 votes in favor, 85 against, 3 abstentions, and 8 invalid votes.
Once the council delivers the impeachment resolution to the Blue House, command of the armed forces will instantly be transferred to Prime Minister Han Deok-soo, who is the acting president.
Supreme Command of the Armed Forces means the right to command the military, and is different from other powers of the President.
Similarly, the prime minister will be handed over to Han without any additional procedures, so there will be no vacuum. This is the first time that the prime minister has assumed the role of acting commander-in-chief of the military after the National Assembly passed an impeachment motion against the president, both in 2004 and 2016.
However, this time even the position of Minister of National Defense is vacant, with Vice Minister Kim Seon Ho acting as minister, creating a system in which the president and Minister of National Defense serve simultaneously for the first time in history.
In particular, the people nominated to succeed Kim Young-hyun, the former minister currently under investigation, have declined the position one after another, so for the time being, the commander-in-chief of the army
The only option is for the defense minister to be an acting minister and vice minister. Having an acting minister is unprecedented. Acting Minister Kim Seon Ho, acting under Prime Minister Han Deok-soo's emergency orders, is in charge of preparing for a North Korean attack.
He is expected to preside over a meeting of key commanders of the entire military to reaffirm his leadership and strengthen the command structure to ensure there are no security vacuums.
When the impeachment bill against President Park Geun-hye passed the National Assembly in 2017, the military immediately held a commanders' meeting chaired by the Minister of National Defense and strengthened its preparations by holding talks between high-ranking military officials from the United States and South Korea.
