Prime Minister Han Deok-soo: ”North Korea may attempt provocation... strengthen vigilance”

On the 14th, immediately after the National Assembly passed the impeachment motion against President Yoon Seok-yeol, South Korean Prime Minister Han Deok-soo said, "I want to make sure that the people do not feel uneasy or that social order is not disturbed.
Prime Minister Han Deok-soo issued emergency instructions to each ministry and agency on the same day he took over as president.
First, Acting Minister of National Defense Kim Seon Ho said, "We will strengthen the vigilance of the entire military so that there will be no gap in national security and the safety of the people, and we will be thorough in being able to respond immediately to any crisis situation."
He then told Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Kim Myoung-soo, "There is a possibility that North Korea will judge the domestic situation to be a period of security vulnerability and attempt various forms of provocations."
"We must strengthen our vigilance to prevent the US from making a wrong decision and carrying out a reckless provocation, and we must maintain a firm security posture based on the US-ROK alliance," he said.
In addition, Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho Tae-yol said, "The international situation is becoming increasingly uncertain.
In this situation, we must maintain close channels of communication with major countries such as Japan and China based on the strong US-ROK alliance. There will be no change in the Korean government's foreign policy through overseas diplomatic missions.
I would like you to proactively let people know that there is absolutely no disruption to trade."
