”MBC Entertainment Awards” suspended, ”MBC Drama Awards” on the 30th ”undecided”

On the 29th, MBC suspended the broadcast of "2024 MBC Entertainment Awards" and organized an emergency news special report.The MBC side had earlier canceled the "2024 MBC Performing Arts Awards" photo time event scheduled for 7 p.m. that day and announced that the "2024 MBC Performing Arts Awards" would be held as scheduled, but eventually decided to cancel the event.

As for the "MBC Acting Awards," scheduled to take place on the 30th, the KBS, which will hold the "Acting Awards" on the 31st, and the SBS side also said that "nothing has been decided yet" regarding the suspension of the broadcast.

On the morning of the same day, an accident occurred at Muang International Airport when a plane departing from Bangkok, Thailand, left the runway while landing and burned to the ground.The passenger aircraft was Jeju Air flight 7C2216, which had departed from Bangkok and was scheduled to arrive at Muan International Airport at 8:30 a.m. on the same day.

According to the Fire and Disaster Management Agency, of the 181 passengers (6 crew members) on board, 120 people have been confirmed dead (as of 2:50 p.m.) and 2 people have been rescued.
