According to the Korea Women's Policy Institute on the 9th, the institute published a 2023 report in December last year that included such content.
The report includes a survey of 9,997 women aged 19 to 64 conducted in 2023, covering their experiences and perceptions of family, and their acceptance of diverse families.
The survey included analysis of the content related to tolerance and work-life balance. As a result of the survey on marriage intentions of unmarried women, ▲44.3% of those in their 20s and under and ▲50.0% of those in their 30s have no intention of getting married.
Those who answered that they have no intention of getting married were down 14.3% and 24.3%, respectively. Those who answered that they have never thought about it were down 41.4% and 25.7%, respectively.
It was found that the intention of unmarried women to marry decreases sharply as they get older, with only 15.3% of those in their 40s and 0.9% of those in their 50s saying they wanted to marry.
As in the case of Jung Woo Sung and Moon GaBi, which recently became a hot topic, most people were not very accepting of "men and women having and raising children without being legally married."
20.5% answered "I don't accept it at all," and 52.2% answered "I don't accept it very much." On the other hand, only 27.2% answered "I accept it," meaning that only about three in ten people are non-compliant.
It was found that people are not positive about getting married and having children. The number of unmarried (non-married) single-person households giving birth and raising a child on their own through artificial insemination using donated eggs or sperm, surrogate birth, etc. was also down 71.2%.
% answered "I would not accept it." The number of people who answered "I would accept it" was ▲28.8%. Regarding international marriage, ▲77.9% answered "I would accept it," and ▲30.0% answered "I would accept it" regarding voluntary unmarriage (non-marriage).
Also, 72.4% viewed it positively.
