Tether, the stablecoin issuer of USDT, plans to relocate its headquarters to El Salvador. Tether announced on the 13th (local time) that it will do so due to "future-oriented policies, a favorable regulatory environment, and the strong support of Bitcoin."
"We took into consideration the communities that are accustomed to traveling abroad," the company said, revealing that it plans to relocate its headquarters and subsidiaries to El Salvador.
For this reason, Tether has been used in Latin American countries, including El Salvador.
The company also plans to secure an operating license in the country. Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether, said, "This decision marks a new home for Tether and allows us to focus on emerging markets.
He emphasized that this is a "natural progression" to ensure that the two countries can reach a common goal.
