China's auto production and sales to exceed 31 million units in 2024, record high: Chinese report

According to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, China's automobile production and sales in 2024 will both exceed 31 million units, a record high.
According to the latest data, China's automobile production and sales in 2024 will increase 3.7% year-on-year to 31.282 million units.
The number of vehicles sold increased 4.5% to 31,436,000 units. Of these, the number of automobile exports increased 19.3% to 5,859,000 units, further solidifying China's position as the world's largest automobile exporter.
According to 2024 automobile industry data, the production and sales volume of new energy vehicles (NEVs) will exceed 12 million units, ranking first in the world for the 10th consecutive year.
In the same year, NEV production volume increased 34.4% year-on-year to 12,888,000 units, while sales volume increased 35.5% year-on-year to 12,866,000 units.
The number of new vehicles produced and sold accounted for 40.9% of the total number of new vehicles produced and sold. In addition, the number of NEV exports increased by 6.7% to 1,284,000 units, continuing to lead the world.
