The wife who lost her husband in the Seosan parking lot murder case has strongly called for severe punishment of suspect Kim Myoung-hyun (43).
Ms. A, who revealed that the victim of the murder case was her husband, appeared on JTBC's "Case Leader" on the 14th.
A's husband, B, was killed while waiting for a designated driver in his car near the parking lot of a restaurant in Seosan, Chungnam, at around 10 p.m. on November 8 last year.
According to Ms. A, her husband Mr. B got into his car after finishing a business meeting at around 9:32 pm on the day of the incident. Ms. B said, "I was going home after the meeting," and "I called a substitute driver."
"I need to find the place, but it's dark and I don't know exactly where I am," she said, continuing to contact A. Worried about her husband, A asked him to take a photo of the area and send it to her to confirm the exact location.
After taking a photo and sending it, Mr. B said, "I have to take better care of my wife." In the photo that Mr. B sent, he was also seen taking a photo in the car window.
After that, B shouted "Wait a minute" and no further communication was heard. A called three times, but B did not answer the phone, and A said he was drunk and fell asleep.
However, when A was unable to contact B by the next morning, he filed a missing person report with the police. After that, A, who was waiting with only the phone in his hand, said, "B's car was on fire and inside
Police contacted A and said, "No one was found." A asked the police to "send you a photo and see if it's your husband." A checked the photo, but the man in the photo was B.
That was not the case. Later, the police discovered B's cell phone and the body with bloodstains near the scene, turning the missing person case into a serious case and arresting Kim.
According to A, Kim had been wandering around the parking lot with the murder weapon he had brought from his home, looking for a target, for 30 minutes before the crime, and then at around 9:43 p.m., he snatched the weapon from the back seat of the car.
After Kim opened the door and entered the house, he stabbed B dozens of times with a weapon, killing him. After Kim burned the car and B's belongings, A took 60,000 won (about 13,000 yen) out of the 120,000 won (about 13,000 yen) he stole.
In fact, Kim said during the investigation, "I committed a crime, but if I win the lottery when I'm arrested, my children will be able to live comfortably."
He reportedly confessed, "I bought it because I thought it might help me," and "I committed the crime because I was struggling to make ends meet with a lot of debt, including gambling debts worth hundreds of millions won."
"The first hearing will be held next week, but Kim is currently claiming that the crime was an 'accidental crime.'" A said, "As it is his first offense, he is mentally impaired.
