韓国検察、“チャン・ウォニョン(IVE)を誹謗”脱オタク収容所の執行猶予に控訴…「刑が低すぎる」
South Korean prosecutors appeal against suspended sentence for ”defaming Jang Won Young (IVE)” to escape from otaku camp... ”The sentence is too low”
The sentence of the cyber-wrecker "Escape from Otaku Camp" who made money by posting videos maliciously slandering celebrities, including Jang Won Young of the group "IVE", has been suspended.
According to legal circles on the 21st, the Incheon District Prosecutors' Office filed an appeal against the preliminary sentence, citing suspicions of defamation and insult under the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection.
The operator of the "anti-otaku camp" that is said to be a "geek camp" is dissatisfied with the first-instance ruling, and filed an appeal. Mr. A was sentenced to two years in prison with three years of probation in the first instance, and fined 210 million won (approximately 2,100,000 yen).
He was sentenced to 100,000 yen (including tax) and 120 hours of community service. However, the prosecution appealed the sentence, claiming that the sentence imposed in the first trial was too low and unjust. The prosecution argued that the defendant had actively produced and distributed videos containing false information.
Mr. A has been unforgivable by many of his victims for committing serious crimes that have caused irreparable damage to the victims and for obtaining substantial profits of over 200 million won from such crimes.
From October 2021 to June 2023, Mr. A will be the director of the company's IVE Entertainment Group and other yang masters, including Jang Won Young.
He is suspected of posting false videos slandering seven people 23 times, thus damaging their reputations. He is also suspected of posting insulting videos against five of them, thereby obstructing the management office's business.
She earned about 250 million won in revenue from her YouTube channel, which she operates as a paid membership channel and produces and distributes videos about Feik.
The prosecution requested the court to sentence Mr. A to four years in prison and to impose a fine of 200 million won.
At the first hearing, the court stated, "The defendant repeatedly slandered famous celebrities and posted provocative content on his YouTube channel, earning considerable profits, and therefore bears a heavy responsibility."
While stating that the defendant had admitted his mistake and was remorseful, the court suspended the prison sentence, taking into consideration that "Mr. A has belatedly admitted his mistake and is remorseful." As the police have appealed this decision, the future decision of the court remains to be seen.
It will attract attention.
