Reform New Party lawmaker Lee Jun-seok forms special advisory team to prepare for early presidential elections (South Korea)
Lee Jun-seok, a lawmaker from the New Reform Party, has formed a special advisory team and begun groundwork for forming what is essentially a presidential election camp.
According to political circles, Rep. Lee recently appointed a special advisory team of 15 people.
He will be 40 years old, the age at which he can run for president. His special advisors include Lee Dong-hoon, former Chosun Ilbo editorial director and the first spokesman for President Yoon Seok-yeol when he first entered politics.
The former special advisor will oversee public relations and strategy-related work. Kwak Dae-jung (aka Bonghwa), a convenience store owner who served as student council president at Chonnam National University, will be the next.
The Reform New Party's spokesman, Kim Dal-ho, will also be delivering the message. Party officials, including Secretary-General Kim Cheol-keun of the Reform New Party, will also be participating.
Rep. Lee attended a workshop in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province with a special team of advisors from the 10th to the 12th.
The workshop also reportedly discussed strategies for an early presidential election. The presidential election camp office will be located in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
Generally, they set up camp in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, but this is different. It has been learned that Rep. Lee's camp recently signed a contract for an office in a building in the downtown area around Gangnam Station.
This is interpreted as an attempt to increase contact with citizens. After the Lunar New Year holiday, Rep. Lee will also be in full swing on the ground. On the 2nd of next month, he will hold a press conference on the fourth industry and the era of artificial intelligence (AI).
We also plan to provide a forum for discussing with young people the direction we should take in the coming year.
