Rep. Kim Yun-deok: ”All lawmakers are active in the field”

With the impeachment political situation at a stalemate, the Democratic Party of Korea emphasized that it would focus on the progress of people's livelihood and the economy in February.
On the 2nd, Kim Yun-deok, secretary-general of the Democratic Party of Korea, said, "The Democratic Party will firmly respond to any attempt to undermine the constitutional order and will do its utmost to resolve pending issues affecting the lives of the people.
"From February, the national assembly members and regional chairpersons will focus on the people's livelihoods," he said. At the same time, he said, "We need an emergency revised budget to save the people's livelihoods," and "The Democratic Party will not make any concessions.
"We will make concessions and cooperate beyond the party line," he said. Secretary General Kim also mentioned that Chairman Lee is seriously considering economic issues. He said, "What Chairman Lee is most concerned about is the economic crisis in Korea.
"I am of the opinion that I will do whatever I can to resolve this issue," he said, "so I also said that I will give up many of the opinions that I normally assert for the sake of the people's livelihood."
"I think he will give up if the budget is impossible due to the differences in views he advocated," he said. In fact, Lee revealed at a New Year's press conference on the 23rd of last month that he would abandon the local currency policy in order to revise the budget.
He also said that "a bold transformation is necessary" to pass the Semiconductor Promotion Act. In response, Secretary-General Kim added, "I think we should think of it in terms of the black cat and white cat theory."
