Foreigner arrested for manufacturing and selling illegal drug ”RUSH” banned in Korea
A foreign man in his 20s was arrested for manufacturing and distributing the illegal drug "RUSH," which is banned from being brought into South Korea.
On the 5th, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul arrested a Dominican national in his 20s under the Drug Control Act.
The prosecutors said that the suspect, A, had been detained and sent to the prosecution on suspicion of violating the law. Since September last year, he has been transporting illegal drug raw materials and other items from Vietnam to South Korea disguised as cosmetics, and then disguised them as cosmetics.
The amount of rush produced by suspect A was enough for more than 2,600 people to use at the same time, and the current market value was 1,000,000 yen.
The value of the item is 33 million won (approximately 3.4 million yen). Police also seized 3.42 liters of alcohol that had not yet been distributed in the city. Suspect A had been making profits by reselling brand-name goods in Vietnam and South Korea.
However, due to the recent lack of sales, the suspect was accused of directly manufacturing and distributing illegal drugs by bringing in the materials. The police also arrested two middlemen who purchased rush drugs from suspect A and sent them to the prosecution.
They are also pursuing other middlemen and plan to confiscate the criminal proceeds.
