According to the administrative welfare center in Wolpyeong 2-dong, Seo-gu, Daejeon on the 3rd, a 93-year-old woman visited the center on the 26th of last month and handed over a white envelope.
The woman, who asked to remain anonymous, said, "I have never done anything for the country, but I have always been grateful to the country for taking good care of me."
"It's not a lot of money, but I hope it will help children who don't give up on their dreams even in difficult circumstances," she said. The woman had previously donated money to university students without anyone's knowledge.
Kim Young-mook, head of Wolpyeong 2-dong, said, "I want to connect the important feelings of the elderly to the necessary support for poor children."
The center plans to use the donations to support education and welfare for children and young people from low-income families in the area.
