Kim Hyun Joo, the director of the movie "The Battle," did not cut out the risky Yu A In from the movie. The production report for "The Battle" was held on the morning of the 7th at CGV Yongsan A, Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
The event took place at Epark Mall and was attended by director Kim Hyun Joo, Lee Byung Hun, Go Chang-seok, Hyun Bong-sik, Moon Jeong-hee, and Jo Woo-jin.
"Game" is about Korea's greatest Go legend, Cho Hun-hyun (played by Lee Byung Hun), who, after losing a match against his disciple, once again challenges for the top spot with his innate competitive spirit.
The story is about Yu A In, who appeared in the film, who was found guilty of 181 regular doses of propofol between September 2020 and March 2022, and 44 deaths between May 2021 and August 2022.
He was put on trial for illegally prescribing sleeping pills under the name of another person several times. As a result, "The Battle" went through many twists and turns before it was confirmed for theatrical release. Poster, teaser edition
Yu A In was cut from all the promotional materials, and there was a lot of interest in whether she would be cut from the main story. Director Kim Hyun Joo said, "The promotional materials such as the teaser will be exposed to an unspecified number of people.
"I did it because I thought it would be difficult to re-edit the main story, given the flow of the story and the intention of the project. I believe that once the film is released, people will be able to fully understand that part," he said.
He added, "We suffered unexpected damage before the film was released, but we didn't want to cause any damage. We thought it would be best to release the film as originally planned."
He also revealed, "From the start, I made all the preparations with the goal of releasing the film in theaters. I'm happy to be able to show the film to audiences in theaters, which makes the film feel like a movie."
Thus, for the sake of the film's perfection, they decided not to cut Yu A In. Kwak Do Won, who was indicted for his role in Drunk Driving, was also left uncut in the box office hit film "
Following "Firefighter", attention is focused on whether the audience will accept the movie itself, setting aside Yu A In's affair. It will be released on the 26th.
