On the 9th, Kwon Seong-dong, floor leader of the ruling People's Power Party, announced that the Democratic Party of Korea will demand the resignation of Prosecutor General Shim Woo-jung and will take all measures, including impeachment.
"It seems that the disease of Lee Jae-myung's votes destroying national politics has come back," he said.
"The impeachment obsession of the Lee Jae-myung faction has reached a point where it must be treated as a special intimidation offense under the Criminal Code," he said.
He added, "If necessary, they will threaten to impeach and suspend Lee Jae-myung from his position, saying, 'If we don't like him, we'll impeach him,' or 'If he doesn't listen to what the Democratic Party has to say, we'll impeach him.'"
"They are retaliating by suspending the prosecutor general from his position for making a decision the prosecution dislikes, thereby paralyzing the entire organization. Both the Constitutional Court and the prosecution are in a state of turmoil over the Democratic Party's threats," he said.
"Don't be swayed by pressure, but adhere to the law and principles," he said. Prior to this, Park Chan-dae, floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, said on the same day, "President Shim must immediately resign.
If they refuse, we will take all measures, including impeachment."
