Kwon Yuri, a member of the Korean girl group "Girls' Generation" and also an active actress, shared her thoughts on showing a new side of herself through the movie "Invasion."

She expressed her satisfaction that it was a turning point for her as an actress. On this day, Kwon Yuri said, "'Invasion' is a project that expresses the opposite of the image of 'Girls' Generation' that I had up until now.
"This production was an opportunity for me to let go. I had always wanted to change my image, and I think the director gave me the courage to do so."
He continued, "I tried to minimize the emotional ups and downs of Hye-young (played by Lee Sul). I wanted to create a character with stronger inherent abilities.
I thought it would be good to have that kind of feeling, and I tried to express that. Rather than trying to express something that would put a lot of effort into the performance, I tried to reduce it a bit."
Kwon Yuri also commented, "The rough skin tone, texture, and mannerisms all perfectly express the life of Kim Min.
I tried to make the skin texture and lines as rough as possible so that it would look like this. I didn't put any BB cream on my face, I just put on some grime and freckles to make the impression a little colder.
"I was also filming 'Parole Examiner Lee Han Shin' at the same time, so I gained 7kg," he explained. "I've been active for a long time, so I've been able to show a side of myself that I've never shown before."
I wanted people to wonder, "Who is that?" so I tried to show a different side to the smooth and tidy YURI we've seen up until now.
Naturally, I was worried about whether my performance would be accepted, but I acted with the hope that I would be accepted as the character of Kim Min itself," he recalled.
Furthermore, Kwon Yuri said, "I was hoping for an opportunity to be able to do more freely. I practiced a lot before filming the smoking scene.
The director and managers were very enthusiastic about giving me advice. I'm a non-smoker, so I used smoking weed. It was for the character's sake, and it was interesting.
"There was some concern that I might not be able to do that, but I was fully prepared to do whatever it took to find a use for the role," he said.
Kwon YURI also boasts of her special affection for the members of Girls' Generation.
"The other members were busy and couldn't come to the preview. Yuna and Suyeong had even watched the teaser and prepared to come, but they were sad that they couldn't come on the day because they had to film.
