Han Dae-haeng emphasizes importance of security at NSC meeting (South Korea)

South Korea's Acting President and Prime Minister Han Deok-soo stated at an emergency plenary meeting of the National Security Council (NSC) on the 24th that he recognizes that "the security situation is more severe than ever."
Han strongly urged the public to "maintain thorough preparations and not allow any gaps" in order to protect the lives and property of the people.
"North Korea continues to make military provocations, including nuclear and missile threats," Han said at the meeting.
"Based on the solid ROK-U.S. alliance, we will continue to cooperate closely with friendly countries and the international community to protect our people and national interests," Han said.
"I want all possible measures to be taken to ensure that the foreign policy for the sake of the nation is implemented smoothly," he said.
"The key to success is the economy," he said. Finally, he said, "All ministries and agencies will work closely together as one team to ensure that companies operating in the global market can secure stable supply chains and fully utilize their capabilities."
