According to Jin Air and other sources on the 26th, Jin Air LJ312 departed Sapporo at around 3:00 p.m. on the 25th of this month.
The flight landed on runway 18L at Gimhae Airport in Busan, South Korea at 5:35 p.m. on the same day. The plane was cleared to land on runway 18R, but it was on a completely different runway.
It landed on runway 18L. At the time, a low-cost carrier (LCC) Air Busan passenger plane was heading to runway 18L to take off at Gimhae Airport.
It is reported that the control tower recognized the "aircraft minor accident" situation just before the Jin Air passenger plane landed and stopped the Air Busan passenger plane from approaching the runway.
An "aircraft minor accident" is an incident that impedes safe flight operations but does not escalate into an aircraft accident.
The near-accident is believed to have been caused by a pilot's mistake.
A Jin Air official said, "We immediately reported the incident to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and related investigations are currently underway."
