EXO's Baekhyun donates 20 million yen to forest fire recovery efforts
BAEKHYUN (EXO) donated approximately 20 million yen for the restoration of wildfire damage.

The Korean Red Cross announced on March 29th that BAEKHYUN donated 20 million yen for the restoration of wildfire damage nationwide, including Ulsan, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and Gyeongsangnam-do, and to support wildfire rescue personnel and victims.

BAEKHYUN conveyed the donation and said, “We send our consolations to everyone who is going through a difficult time,” and hoped that they will be able to return to normal life as soon as possible.

Kim Choo-chul, Chairman of the Korean Red Cross Society, said, “The warm heart shown by BAEKHYUN for the restoration of this wildfire damage will be a great hope for many people affected by this disaster,” and added, “We will actively make efforts to help the residents affected by the wildfire restore hope for their daily lives."

The donation will be carefully used to restore the areas affected by the wildfires and to support the victims in Gyeongsangbuk-do, Gyeongsangnam-do, Ulsan, and other areas nationwide.

The Korean Red Cross, a statutory disaster management agency and relief organization, has been conducting emergency relief activities for firefighters and victims at wildfire-affected areas nationwide, including Sancheong in Gyeongsangnam-do, Uisong in Gyeongsangbuk-do, and Ulju in Ulsan, for eight days since the wildfires began on March 21st. As of March 27th, 2,052 staff members and volunteers have provided a total of 87,887 emergency relief supplies, including 1,270 emergency relief sets, 4,865 blankets, 477 shelters, and 59,630 bottles of drinking water and other items.

In addition, firefighting personnel and feeding assistance to 58,210 disaster victims and disaster psychological counseling to 2,924 people were also provided. In addition, a mobile clinic has been set up on site to provide medical care to disaster victims and relief personnel, and 13 relief equipment vehicles are in operation, including mobile feeding vehicles, recovery support vehicles, mobile shower vehicles, and relief support vehicles.
