[Official] Park BoGum, Byun Woo-seok, Kim TaeRi and IU nominated for Best Acting Award at the 61st Baeksang Arts Awards

Candidates for the “61st Baeksang Arts Awards” have been announced.

On August 7, the Grand Prize Office announced the nominees for broadcasting, film, and theater for the “61st Baeksang Arts Grand Prize with GUCCI”.

The TV category will be renamed the Broadcasting category this year to reflect the expanded criteria.

The nominees for the Best Drama Work category are tvN's 'Lovely Runner', JTBC's 'The Tale of Lady Ok', MBC's 'Doubt', Netflix's 'Trauma Code', and Netflix's 'When Life Gives You Tangerines'.

The nominees for the Best Entertainment Work Award for the trendiest content of the moment are tvN's 'Iron Girls', Mnet's 'Stage Fighter', Choo Sung Hoon's 'The Afterlife of Ajosi', 'Windward GO', and Netflix's “Culinary Class War.” In the category of Best Liberal Arts Work, a variety of works with diverse themes and messages were selected, from EBS 'Documentary Prime - Where is My Last Home,' to Wavve “All Family,” Wonju MBC “Wind, With You Again,” SBS “Special - Hak Kyung and Later Kim Min Ki,” and Tving 'Shaman: The Demon God's Tale'. After intense debate, five nominees were selected for the Best Performance Award, which is given to the actor who has given the best and most passionate performance over the last year, for both men and women. Koh Min-shi (Netflix's 'The Frog'), Kim Tae-ri (tvN's 'Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born'), Kim Hae-yoon (tvN's 'Lovely Runner'), IU (Netflix's 'When Life Gives You Tangerines') and Jang Nara (SBS's 'Good Partner') are the female competition for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role.

The competition is expected to be the hottest of all time in the Best Male and Female Supporting Actor categories. Kim Joon-han (SBS's 'Good Partner'), Noh Jae-won Netflix (Squid Game Season 2), Yoon Kyung-ho (Netflix's 'Trauma Code'), Choi Dae-hoon (Netflix's 'When Life Gives You Tangerines'), Hyun Bong-sik (Tving's 'Dong Jae, the Good or the Bastard') were nominated for Best Male Supporting Actor.

Kim Guk-hee (Coupang Play's “Family Planning”), Kim Jae-hwa (The Tale of Lady Ock), Yeom Hye-ran (Netflix's 'when Life Gives You Tangerines'), Oh Kyung-hwa (tvN's 'Jeongnyeon: the star is born'), Jung Eun-chae (tvN's 'Jeongnyeon: the star is born'), the Best Supporting Female Actress category is so strong that it is difficult to predict the winners.

In the Rookie of the Year Award category, which is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, all of the hottest rising stars were in attendance. Kim Jung Jin (MBC's 'Doubt'), Song Gong Hee (tvN's 'Lovely Runner'), Cha Woo Min (Tving's 'Study Group'), Joo Young Woo ('The Tale of Lady Ock), Ho Nam Jun (Genie TV's 'YOUR HONOR ~ The Unforgivable Judge') are nominees for Best Male Rookie Acting. Kim Tae-young (Netflix 'When Life Gives You Tangerines'), Roh Jeong-eui (CHANNEL A 'The Witch'), Cho Yoon-soo (Disney+ “Tyrant”), Choi Won-bin (MBC 'Doubt') and Ha-young (Netflix “Trauma Code”) are the female compete for the Best Newcomer Acting Award.

The film category, The Theater District, had not had an easy year last year, but it breathed thickly with the audience with its diverse genres and fresh approaches.
In the Best Picture category, 'How to Love a Big City', 'Revolver', 'House of the Seasons', 'War and Ran', and 'Harbin' were nominated. The nominees for Best Director were Park Yi-woon ('Morning Sea, Seagulls'), Oh Seung-wook ('Revolver'), Woo Min-ho ('Harbin'), Lee Eon-hee ('How to Love a Big City') and Lee Jung-pil ('Escape').

The nominees for Best New Director, where the competition is expected to be just as fierce as for Best Director, are Kim Se-hwi (“She's Dead”), Nam Dong-hyeop (The Handsome Guys), Oh Jung-min (House of the Seasons), Lee Miran (About My Daughter), and Jeong Ji-hye (“Jeong Sun”).

The nominees for the Best Performance Award, which attracts the most interest, are all pillars of the Korean film industry. Yoon Joo Sang (“Morning Sea, Seagulls”), Lee Byung Hun (“The Game”), Lee Hee Joon (“The Handsome Guys”), Cho Jung Suk (“Pilot”), and Hyun Bin (“Harbin”) are the nominees for the best male performance award. For the Best Female Actress award, Kim Go-eun (“How to Love a Big City”), Kim Geum-sun (“Jeong Sun”), Song Hye-kyo (“Black Nuns”), Jung Do-young (“Revolver”) and Cho Yojung (“Hidden Face”) are in the running for the award.

Many of the distinguished nominees are also in the running for Best Supporting Actor. The male Best Supporting Actor list includes Koo Gyo-hwan (“Escape”), Park Jung-min (“War and War”), Yoo Jae-myung (“Happy Land”), Jung Hae-in (“Veteran 2”), and Cho Woo-jin (“Harbin”). With their different charms, Kong Seung-yeon (“Handsome Guys”), Soo-hyun (“Ordinary Family”), Im Ji-young (“Revolver”), Jung Yo-bin (“Black Nuns”) and Han Sung-hwa (“Pilot”) were nominated for Best Supporting Female Performance.

Kang Seung-ho (“House of the Seasons”), Noh Sang-hyun (“Love Law in the Big City”), Moon Woo-jin (“Black Nuns”), Jang Sung-beom (“Work to Do”), and Jeong Sung-il (“War and Ran”) were nominated for Best Male New Acting. Noh Yoon-soo (“Hearing Setsu”), Park Ji-hyun (“Hidden Face”), Lee Myung-ha (“Miman”), Lee Hye-ri (Girl's Day) (“Victory”), and Ha Seo-yun (“Streaming”) will compete for the Best New Female Actress award.

For the GUCCI IMPACT AWARD, now in its third year, five films, “To Her,” “How to Love a Big City,” “Reviving Voices,” “Morning Sea, Seagulls Are,” and “Jeong Sun,” were selected, each of which spotlights a social issue from its own perspective and includes a message toward a better future.

Meanwhile, the “61st Baeksang Art Awards with GUCCI” will be held at 8 p.m. on May 5 at COEX Hall D in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
