Candidates for the “61st Baeksang Arts Awards” have been announced.

On August 7, the Grand Prize Office announced the nominees for broadcasting, film, and theater for the “61st Baeksang Arts Grand Prize with GUCCI”.

The TV category will be renamed the Broadcasting category this year to reflect the expanded criteria.

The nominees for the Best Drama Work category are tvN's 'Lovely Runner', JTBC's 'The Tale of Lady Ok', MBC's 'Doubt', Netflix's 'Trauma Code', and Netflix's 'When Life Gives You Tangerines'.

The nominees for the Best Entertainment Work Award for the trendiest content of the moment are tvN's 'Iron Girls', Mnet's 'Stage Fighter', Choo Sung Hoon's 'The Afterlife of Ajosi', 'Windward GO', and Netflix's “Culinary Class War.” In the category of Best Liberal Arts Work, a variety of works with diverse themes and messages were selected, from EBS 'Documentary Prime - Where is My Last Home,' to Wavve “All Family,” Wonju MBC “Wind, With You Again,” SBS “Special - Hak Kyung and Later Kim Min Ki,” and Tving 'Shaman: The Demon God's Tale'. Kim Joon-han (SBS's 'Good Partner'), Noh Jae-won Netflix (Squid Game Season 2), Yoon Kyung-ho (Netflix's 'Trauma Code'), Choi Dae-hoon (Netflix's 'When Life Gives You Tangerines'), Hyun Bong-sik (Tving's 'Dong Jae, the Good or the Bastard') were nominated for Best Male Supporting Actor.

The nominees for Best New Director, where the competition is expected to be just as fierce as for Best Director, are Kim Se-hwi (“She's Dead”), Nam Dong-hyeop (The Handsome Guys), Oh Jung-min (House of the Seasons), Lee Miran (About My Daughter), and Jeong Ji-hye (“Jeong Sun”).

The nominees for the Best Performance Award, which attracts the most interest, are all pillars of the Korean film industry. Yoon Joo Sang (“Morning Sea, Seagulls”), Lee Byung Hun (“The Game”), Lee Hee Joon (“The Handsome Guys”), Cho Jung Suk (“Pilot”), and Hyun Bin (“Harbin”) are the nominees for the best male performance award. For the GUCCI IMPACT AWARD, now in its third year, five films, “To Her,” “How to Love a Big City,” “Reviving Voices,” “Morning Sea, Seagulls Are,” and “Jeong Sun,” were selected, each of which spotlights a social issue from its own perspective and includes a message toward a better future.

Meanwhile, the “61st Baeksang Art Awards with GUCCI” will be held at 8 p.m. on May 5 at COEX Hall D in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
