”University dormitory sexual assault case” perpetrator commits sex crime again 12 years later = South Korea

A man in his 30s who broke into a university dormitory in the Busan area in 2013 and sexually assaulted a female student has been put on trial for committing another sex crime. At the time, he was sentenced to prison and was ordered to disclose his personal information.
On the 8th, according to the Korean legal profession, the first hearing of Defendant A (37), who was indicted on charges of violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes (threatening to use footage, etc.), was held.
The trial will be held at the Busan District Court on the 16th. Defendant A was arrested and indicted on charges of taking and distributing nude photos of a woman he met in 2022 and threatening the woman's family with the photos.
Defendant A is the perpetrator of a sexual assault case in a university dormitory that shocked students in 2013. Defendant A, who was 25 years old at the time and attending university in another city, was arrested at around 2:20 a.m. on August 30 of that year.
He broke into the women's dormitory, stayed in the victim's room for three hours, and sexually assaulted her. In February 2014, Defendant A was sentenced to six years in prison and required to complete 120 hours of sexual assault treatment.
Osamu was sentenced to six years of disclosure and notification. Although his sentence was reduced due to the fact that it was his first offense and that he had reached a settlement, he committed another crime 12 years later.
