”Lee Jun-seok is privatizing false politicians and political parties”... Former New Reform Party chairwoman Heo Eun-ah leaves party and declares to run for president as an independent (South Korea)
On the 23rd, former chairwoman Heo Eun-ah, who has been in conflict with Lee Jun-seok, the presidential candidate of the New Reform Party, left the party and declared that she would run for president as an independent.
Heo also criticized the presidential candidate Lee Jun-seok, saying, "A false politician has privatized the party."
"I can no longer love or support this party," he said. "Reform has disappeared, and the party has become a political arena where only Lee Jun-seok is respected. Lee Jun-seok is the only one who is respected.
"He is similar to former President Yoon Seok-yeol, but he has privatized the party more subtly and thoroughly," he said. "His departure from the party was not an escape to avoid responsibility, but an act of fulfilling responsibility."
"This is a choice to make. We will show politics that demonstrates reform through action, not just words," he said. Along with Heo, 31 other party officials will also be leaving the party.
Heo was elected as the party chairman in May last year, but after clashing with Lee over personnel issues, he was forced to resign from his position in a party member recall vote in January this year.
Lost.
