South Korea's election commission requests police to investigate cyberattack on election statistics system
The South Korean National Election Commission (NCEC) announced on the 23rd that a cyber attack had been confirmed on the election statistics system operated on the commission's website, and has requested the police to investigate.
According to the election commission, unauthorized access to the election statistics system was detected for about three hours from around 2:40 pm on the 22nd. The attackers repeatedly accessed the system in large quantities in an attempt to overload the server.
