Kim Moon-soo, People's Power presidential candidate, ”The party is trying to drag down the presidential candidate... I'm cutting off my schedule and going to Seoul” (South Korea)
Kim Moon-soo, the ruling People Power Party's presidential candidate, said on the 6th, "The party that failed to protect the president twice is now trying to drag down even the presidential candidate," and called for the suspension of the candidate's schedule.
"If that's what they're going to do, why did the party hold three primaries?" Kim told reporters that afternoon.
Candidate Kim said, "As a candidate of the People's Power, I have put all my effort into conveying my vision for winning the presidential election.
"I have clearly shown my consistent will to unify the party, and I am still committed to unifying the party," he said.
"I believe this is an attempt by the party leadership to forcibly remove me as a legitimate presidential candidate," he said.
Candidate Kim said, "I will suspend my schedule as a candidate from now on. I will go to Seoul and thoroughly address the various remaining issues."
On the same day, Kim also visited the forest fire scene in Yeongdeok County, North Gyeongsang Province, and the Jukdo Market in Pohang City.
He will visit the Gyeongju Hwabaek Convention Center, where the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit will be held, and conclude his schedule in Daegu in the afternoon.
This was the plan of candidate Kim. The People Power Party's emergency response committee chairman Kwon Yeong-se and floor leader Kwon Seong-dong expressed their views on the matter, in a joint statement with candidate Kim and Han Deok-soo.
) This came just after he decided to visit Daegu to persuade others on the issue of unifying independent presidential primary candidates.
