Approval ratings for South Korean presidential candidates: Lee Jae-myung 49%, Kim Moon-soo 27%, Lee Jun-seok 7%
A poll was released on the 15th showing that Lee Jae-myung, the main opposition Democratic Party candidate, is still in the lead in the approval ratings of South Korea's next presidential candidates.
Four Korean opinion polling companies, Mbrain Public, KEI Stat Research, Korea Research, and Korea Research, conducted a survey of 1,000 men and women aged 18 and over from the 12th to the 14th of this month.
According to the National Barometer Survey (NBS) conducted on the target group, Lee's approval rating was 49%, while Kim Moon-soo of the ruling People Power Party had 27%, and Lee Jun-seok of the New Reform Party had 26%.
In addition, 57% of respondents said they wanted a "change of government" in the next presidential election, while 32% said they wanted a "re-creation of government."
Meanwhile, support for political parties was calculated to be 42% for the Democratic Party and 28% for the ruling party.
