In South Korea, a hospital was found liable in a second trial for refusing to accept a teenage patient who was rushed to the hospital following a plane crash without a valid reason.

On the 15th, the Seoul High Court ruled on the correction order filed by Seongmok Academy, a school corporation that runs the Daegu Catholic University Hospital, against the Minister of Health and Welfare.
The incident occurred in March 2023 in Daegu. A woman who was 17 years old at the time is believed to have fallen from a four-story building.
After the accident, the patient was taken by ambulance to the local emergency medical center, Daegu Fatima Hospital. However, the emergency medicine resident said to the patient, "You need psychiatric care," without meeting the patient.

Catholic University Hospital in Daegu refused to accept the patient, citing the lack of neurosurgery staff. After several other hospitals also refused to accept the patient, the ambulance team once again went to Catholic University Hospital in Daegu.
The woman was eventually transferred to Daegu Catholic University Hospital where she was treated after her cardiac arrest, which was caused by the ambulance being passed around from one hospital to another.
The Ministry of Health and Welfare issued a correction order and six notices to four hospitals, including Daegu Catholic University Hospital, for refusing to accept emergency patients without a valid reason.
The court imposed a sanctions including suspending the payment of subsidies for three months.
