Former Mayor Hong said, "The orthodox conservatism of this party ended when Chairman Lee Hoi-Chang retired from politics, but until now, pseudo-conservatives have gathered and created all kinds of beautiful things.
"They've been using pretty words to call themselves political conservatives and deceive the people," he said. "In the end, they've even changed the party's policies to left-wing policies," he said.
"Once the presidential election is over, I believe that orthodox conservatism in South Korea will have to overturn its current foundations and build a new one," he said.
