A man in his 20s who entered the dormitory of South Korean girl group New Jeans without permission has been sentenced to prison.

Criminal Court 9Exclusive conducted a public trial for Mr. A, who is suspected of trespassing and theft. The prosecution sought a 10-month prison sentence.
Mr. A admitted to all the charges and emphasized that this was his first offense and asked for leniency.
This is the situation as requested. Previously, in December of last year, Mr. A illegally entered the NewJeans dormitory in Yongsan-gu, Seoul twice. He was also suspected of stealing items.
He has stolen hangers and placards from the dorms, and has also taken photos of the dorm interior and posted them online.
NewJeans was known to have moved out of the dorm after announcing the end of their contract with ADOR in November last year.
Meanwhile, NewJeans held an emergency press conference in the same month, announcing that their relationship of trust with ADOR and HYBE had been broken and terminating their contract. ADOR then filed suit against the NewJeans members.
In response, the company filed an application for provisional injunction to confirm the validity of the exclusive contract and to prohibit the agency from maintaining its status and entering into advertising contracts. The court accepted the application for provisional injunction and made all citation decisions, and allowed the agency to continue its independent activities.

If the court accepts the request and the women continue their activities independently without ADOR, they will have to pay 1 billion won (approximately 100 million yen) in compensation for each of them.
If the five-member group NewJeans were to pursue its own activities, it would have to pay 5 billion won (US$5.5 million) to ADOR.
