Added value of Chinese industrial companies above a certain size increased 5.8% year-on-year in May - Chinese report

According to the National Bureau of Statistics announced on the 16th, the added value of industrial enterprises above a certain size (enterprises with annual main operating revenues of 20 million yen or more) in May increased by 5.8% compared to the same month last year.
By the three major sectors, the added value of mining increased by 5.7% compared to the same month last year, that of manufacturing increased by 6.2%, and that of electricity, thermal energy, gas and water increased by 1.2%.
The manufacturing and supply industry grew by 2.2%. By type of enterprise, the added value of state-owned holding enterprises increased by 3.8%, joint-stock enterprises increased by 6.3%, foreign-invested enterprises, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan-invested enterprises increased by 3.9%, and private enterprises increased by 1.2%.
By industry, the added value of 35 out of 41 industries maintained an upward trend compared to the same month of the previous year. By product category, the added value of 3 out of 623 industrial products increased by 5.9%.
The production volume of 26 items increased from the same month last year. In May, the product sales rate of industrial enterprises of a certain size or larger was 95.9%, down 0.8 percentage points from the previous year. Exports also increased 0.6% to 1.268 trillion yen.
On the other hand, the added value of industrial enterprises of a certain size or larger in the first five months of this year increased by 6.3% compared to the same period last year.
