On the tvN variety show You Quiz on the Block aired on the night of the 25th, the story behind Shim Eun-kyung's entry into the Japanese market was revealed.

Shim Eun-kyung starred in the hit film Sunny: Forever Friends (hereinafter referred to as ‘Sunny’) at the age of 18. However, she decided to study abroad immediately after the film's release. "If not now, there would be no life as the teenage Shim Eun-kyung. I wanted to gain more experience, so I went to New York,“ she explained, adding that she returned after two and a half years abroad. She also shared a humorous anecdote about friends she met during her study abroad period being shocked after watching 'Distrust Hell', in which she starred. Shim Eun-kyung, at 21 years old after returning from her study abroad, perfectly portrayed a 70-year-old grandmother in her 20s in the film “The Strange Woman,” propelling her to stardom. She revealed a behind-the-scenes story, saying, “Actually, ‘The Strange Her’ was a project I initially turned down. I thought, ‘I don't have the life experience to pull off this role,’ but Director Fan Dong-hyuk kept persuading me, saying, ‘This role must be played by Eun-kyung,’ so I ended up joining the project.”

Yu Jae-suk expressed surprise when Shim Eun-kyung suddenly announced her plans to enter the Japanese market in 2017, saying, “I thought, ‘Did a project from Japan come in?’” Shim Eun-kyung explained, “No, at that time, I was obsessed with Japanese rock music and had the ambition to ‘form a rock band in Japan and take over Tokyo Dome,’” surprising everyone with her aspirations.
