On the 14th (Mon), MBN's 30th anniversary national appreciation project "Oh Eunyoung Stay" EP4 aired, featuring a former member of the figure skater team, a shaman in his 5th year and a 21st year Mokseok (= emotionless).
The drama depicts the process in which a detective, the family of a plane crash victim whose father was suddenly sent off, and EXID member HANI each come to terms with their own pain and try to find comfort and recovery.
Dr. Oh Eun-young, Go So-yeon, and Yoo Se-yoon carefully embraced their hearts and conveyed a solid resonance.
First, a 5th year shaman introduced herself as a "good girl" and said, "I saw ghosts while doing figure jumps, and at my worst, I saw an image looking down from the roof."
She confessed about the reason why she decided to become a shaman. She said that she did not want to become a shaman, and that the prejudice and hurt she received from people was so great that she wanted to run away if she could.
In the end, she was in tears. In particular, "Good Girl" opened up about her experience of being verbally abused by her boyfriend's parents, leaving everyone in awe. A 21-year-old detective with the name tag "Mok Seok" has been working as a detective for 21 years.
He said that he has become emotionally numb and is finding it difficult to communicate with his family. "My children tell me they can't talk to their father, and even my wife just tells me to stay away without saying anything," he said.
In this disconnected daily life, he felt bitter and thought, "I feel like I'm alone." In response, Dr. Oh Eun-young gave him practical advice that he needed to practice accurately recognizing and expressing his emotions.
Dr. Oh Eun-young began by talking about fathers. She said, "Eye contact, a pat on the shoulder, and the words 'I love you' are the greatest comfort a child can receive," and added, "Your parents are still young.
You can touch them, right? Please tell them you love them a lot," he added, breaking down in tears.
Oh Eun-young's heartfelt confession brought tears to the set, and Detective Mok-seok also said for the first time, "I love you all."
After expressing his feelings and showing a warm smile, Dr. Oh Eun-young had a deep conversation with "Peanut Candy," a family member who lost their father in the passenger plane disaster.
Peanuts said, "I felt a lot better after I explained the situation, but I felt suffocated and complicated again. I should have done better.
"I wish we had traveled together more," he said, confessing his feelings of regret. Dr. Oh Eun-young said, "It's the common feeling of people who remain after passing away someone close to them."
In the process, the person must not be completely destroyed, crumble, exhausted, or uprooted. They must not go down that far, but must continue to experience hurt, suffering, and pain."
Oh Eun-young said, "Just because we've returned to our normal lives doesn't mean we won't feel sad. The process of mourning is to return to normal life while still loving and longing for our far-away family."
It's not that you can't be happy. I'm sure my father would want that too." Finally, HANI said that "complexion" is her keyword, and that since she was a child, she has been sensitive to other people's emotions.
Hani reflected on her experience of being overly sensitive to her mother's feelings and taking responsibility for them.
"I became conscious of the gazes of others," he said, revealing his true feelings, "and little by little I began to let go of the life I wanted to control."
Oh Eun-young said, "When the time comes, I can't see the attention to detail that I have to catch.
Just let it go and be mindful of the results," he advised, adding, "In life, we make mistakes. If you make a mistake, just apologise and check the other person's reaction."
HANI said, "I want to have the courage to be disliked," and added, "The moment I left the worries I had been carrying alone and started talking was the beginning of a change."
Hani continued, "I decided to live like this, and I was encouraged by Oh Eun-young's advice to live like this," and "For the first time, I was able to see the hesitation that had been lingering in my heart.
Finally, HANI sang the song "I am a Firefly" with the lyrics "It's okay, I'm shining," and all the participants warmed each other's wounds with the warmth of a firefly.
It was a time of comforting each other while shining a bright light.
